People are really pissed that Netflix is using all of its power to promote the spin-off, not the original series.

The collaboration between Netflix and Shonda Rhimes to bring Juila Quinn's romantic novels about 19th-century aristocrats to the screen has already become legendary, as Bridgerton proved to be one of the most popular and watched series after just two seasons.

The success of the show was so monumental that the streaming giant decided to produce the spin-off before the release of the main show's third season, but fans are not exactly thrilled with the decision.

The majority of the fandom feels that the limited series Queen Charlotte, which focuses on the young years of the eponymous queen, is seriously eclipsing Bridgerton's third installment in terms of promotion.

Season 3 has already finished filming and fans are desperate to see some promotional material focusing on Penelope and Colin, but instead they get trailers and stills of Queen Charlotte. While the show is certainly anticipated by most, people would rather see Netflix focus on promoting the original show. But is that really fair to the spin-off?

Could Masali Baduza Be Bridgerton's Season 3 Sophie? Fans Sure Think So

Actually, no.

Queen Charlotte finished filming last summer and is already in post-production, while Season 3 is just getting started. The spin-off is ready to premiere, so Netflix's decision to focus on promoting it is entirely understandable.

Queen Charlotte shouldn't be blamed for postponing the promotion of Season 3, as the filming of the original show was rather convoluted thanks to conflicting schedules of its stars and problems with the script.

Moreover, Netflix always starts promoting their shows a few months before their release, and Bridgerton Season 3 will definitely not premiere earlier than late this fall.

It is simply not beneficial for the streaming giant to waste its money on promoting something that is not coming in the near future, as the marketing budget is quite significant. Fans should just wait for Queen Charlotte and enjoy the new chapter in the Bridgerton saga instead of bashing the spin-off for superficial reasons.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will arrive on Netflix on May 4, 2023.
