In a footrace between speedsters from the two iconic shows, who comes out on top?

A-Train is The Boys' answer to DC's Flash, a witty speedster who's usually relegated to a supporting role. The most popular version of Flash has been on the CW's Arrowverse, the functional opposite of the gritty, gory, graphic The Boys.

Naturally, fans took to Reddit to discuss who is faster, and it turns out these supes are not even in the same league.

Early in Season 1, A-Train was matched up in a race against Shockwave for the title of Fastest Man Alive. In the Prime Video series, the 'hero' is far more worried about his competitive streak than actual heroism.

The announcer says that A-Train can reach speeds of up to 1,000 miles per hour - Mach 1.3. That's about twice as fast as a commercial airliner's average cruising speed, but less than half of the 2,193.2 mph air speed record set in 1976.

It's also important to note that A-Train's speed is diminishing with age; he abuses Compound V to keep up the pace. It takes a toll on his heart, which prevents him from running full speed (until he gets a transplant).

With Flash, it's a little trickier than 'how fast can he run.' His power comes from tapping into the Speed Force, which grants him unnatural speed and the ability to travel through time. And the CW's Flash is far slower than his comic counterpart. In several comics, he's able to travel at the speed of light - Mach 874,030.

In The Flash's 2016 episode Trajectory, he's said to reach Mach 3.3, 2,532 miles per hour. But he's also shown traveling through time, and without delving into theoretical physics, he'd have to at least reach the speed of light to truly accomplish this.

Strictly going off what was said by characters, CW's Flash easily beats A-Train with Mach 3.3 over Mach 1.3.

Virtually all Reddit users picked Flash, taking the opportunity to crack some jokes as well. 'CW Flash would use the Speed Force to travel back in time just so he could watch himself beat A-Train,' one Redditor said.

Redditors are sure that any interaction between the two would just leave A-Train with a shattered ego, only to still pretend he's the reigning 'top dog.'

However, a fight between the two might favor A-Train. He's far more violent and prone to killing his opponent, while The Flash is inherently good and would try diplomacy before battle. 'Flash would sternly ask him to speak in the hallway,' a fan said, 'then Cecile would materialize out of thin air and tell A-Train she can feel the pain inside him.'

However their hypothetical interaction would go, one thing's for certain: A-Train is not beating Flash in a footrace.
