As September has just come to an end, fall is in full swing, meaning days are about to get even bleaker. Under such circumstances, depression and blues may seem inevitable, but there's a tried and tested cure – comedy – that will cheer you up on the saddest of days.
In this case, sitcoms are particularly helpful as they not only make you laugh out loud, but often entertain you with fascinating stories. CBS's Young Sheldon is a prime example of this.
The Big Bang Theory Spin-Off
Only a few shows boast equally successful spin-offs. Cheers with its immensely popular Frasier, The Good Wife and its multiseason shoot-off The Good Fight – The Big Bang Theory's Young Sheldon is definitely among them.
Released in 2017, the prequel ran concurrently with its parent show for two years, exploring the childhood of TBBT's most eccentric character – Dr. Sheldon Cooper. More significantly, Young Sheldon proved popular with viewers who hadn't had a thing for the original sitcom.
As of 2023, Young Sheldon has spanned six seasons, with a seventh installment greenlit for production by CBS. And even though we won't be seeing any new episodes of the beloved sitcom this fall, we can still binge the older seasons to lift our autumn blues.
Where to Stream Young Sheldon?
As of October 2023, the TBBT spin-off is available on several platforms, depending on the country of your residence. For instance, in the US all of Young Sheldon's six seasons are streaming on Max. In turn, in Canada and some other countries like the Philippines and Australia the hit CBS sitcom is available on Netflix.
Young Sheldon Season 7
Given that season 7 must be Young Sheldon's logical conclusion, it isn't surprising why the audience is looking forward to it. Sadly, CBS hasn't yet started working on the last installment due to the WGA strike that has been sweeping across Hollywood since May.
Moreover, Young Sheldon's cast has been deeply involved in the protest, so there was no question of continuing the show before any solution to the standoff was found. Hopefully, the network will begin working on the show in the near future for it to be ready on time for next year's fall season.
