Potential Consequences of Early Returns
Given that the actors' strike concluded only a few weeks ago, it is no surprise that many people are wondering how NBC will be able to get new seasons of such major franchises as One Chicago and Law & Order ready for mid-January premieres. Naturally, fans are mostly skeptical about this seemingly hasty decision.
Essentially, the audience fears that the rapid production will take a toll on the overall quality of the upcoming installments. Fortunately, since the WGA strike has been over for almost two months now, the shows' writers may have had ample time to scribe decent seasons of the beloved projects. Perhaps, had it lasted longer, we wouldn't be having our beloved series back in quite a while.
'Well they had at least the basic synopsis of what was supposed to happen in the first few episodes. But if the writers' strike ended at the same time as the actors' strike they wouldn't have been able to get back into production so quickly,' one Redditor observed.
Either way, we look forward to the return of these fan-favorite shows.
