Hallmark's When Calls the Heart has proven to be one of the most popular melodramas of the past decade. The story of Elizabeth, a young woman from high society who steps out of her comfort zone to teach at a local school on the Canadian frontier, has become more compelling each season. However, the show's impressive run of well-received installments came to an abrupt end in the most recent episode of season 10, as fans began to criticize the writers for completely ruining the period romance's main character.

For three seasons, viewers were looking forward to seeing Elizabeth marry Lucas, and with the couple planning their wedding in the near future, the fandom was confident that Season 10 would conclude on a high note with the two lovers exchanging vows. However, this did not happen, as Elizabeth unexpectedly broke up with Lucas because she did not want to relocate to Capitol City with him if he got elected governor.

Wrong! Recently, Hallmark confirmed that actor Chris McNally will continue portraying Lucas in the upcoming Season 11, which could suggest that Lucas will either be going back and forth between Hope Valley and Capitol City or that he will lose the election and stay put in Hope Valley.

Fans are confident that a new location will be featured in the show along with a new major storyline involving Lucas winning over the capital and tackling new challenges in the process.

Everybody seems psyched to see this theory materialize as people are no longer keen on the idea of following the new version of Elizabeth, who just went and broke up with the man she was actually fixing to marry just because she was too scared to leave the town.
