Most Controversial Contestants.

Netflix's Outlast emerged as one of the most intense reality competitions, incorporating genuine outdoor survival elements that substantially raised the stakes. The perils weren't merely about being booted off the show; the contestants had to face genuine threats to their health and safety.

The show's premise was straightforward — there were hardly any rules. Sixteen participants, divided into four teams, had to endure the brutal conditions of the Alaskan wilderness long enough to win the $1 million prize. The ruthless strategies of Team Alpha members Jill and Amber, shocked viewers. The duo finished second on the show. So, where are they now?

A Little Bit About Jill And Amber

Jill Ashock, a 40-year-old private investigator, EMT, and mother of three, instantly formed a bond with Amber Asay, 34, a former heroin addict who had the harrowing experience of being shot in the face by her partner. While Jill possessed extensive wilderness survival skills, the two women shared an enduring resolve to thrive in a challenging environment dominated by men.

'We're both women that came from a background of distrust in men we [had] devoted our lives to,' Jill said. 'And there, we were surrounded by nothing but men that were looking to take us out by any means possible.'

Both contestants employed rather aggressive and dubious tactics. A significant turning point was when they destroyed the shelter of their competitor, Javier Colón, the lone member left from Team Bravo. In a surprising twist, their teammate, Justin Court, turned against them, siding with Team Charlie and ransacking their camp and possessions.

Where Are They Now?

Though Amber now resides in Phoenix, Arizona, and Jill in Kentucky, they have no regrets about not winning the top spot. Their bond, forged in the crucible of competition, has proven invaluable.

'Amber and I are probably bonded for life. I can't foresee that there would ever be anything that would challenge us to question the love that we obviously created for each other on Outlast,' Jill told E! News.

Both women maintain relatively private lives, making details about their post-Outlast journey scarce. Jill has shared, however, that she persists in her ongoing commitment to empowering other women by helping them leverage her expertise and insights.

'I am still doing survivalist exercises here. I teach mycology and plant ID here on our farm. I’ve become part of the fishing games network of BOW—Becoming an Outdoors-Woman—and helping other women learn survival skills and just tactical advantages of what it means to be a confident strong female.'
