Fans are upset that the current season of The Voice has fewer four-chair turnarounds.

The Voice, an NBC reality singing competition, has captured fans' hearts since its debut in 2011. The blind audition concept, where four celebrity judges evaluate contestants based on their voices without seeing them, seemed genuinely fair, making The Voice feel like an authentic contest rather than a completely scripted production.

However, the show appears to have deviated from this winning formula, much to the fans' dismay.

After the blind auditions for Season 23 concluded, fans tallied the number of four-chair turnarounds and found it significantly reduced from previous seasons.

These tantalising moments, where all judges vie to recruit a singer, are a fan favourite, and the drastic reduction in their number did not go down well with fans.

Some viewers attribute this change to the introduction of new judges, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan, this season. They suspect that The Voice producers requested that veteran judges Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson ease up on the newcomers, allowing them more opportunities to pick contestants for their teams.

As a result, Niall and Chance have been turning around like there is no tomorrow, while the experienced judges have often held back. Although this shift ruins the show's dynamics, fans remain hopeful for engaging future episodes featuring all four teams.

Conversely, not all viewers support this theory. They argue that the judges' restraint is due to the reduced number of teams this season. With limited spots, judges may be keeping their options open for potentially impressive contestants in future episodes. This strategy lends a competitive edge to the show, and fans believe it could help The Voice regain its former glory.

The Voice Season 23 Episode 7 The Battles Premiere is set to air on NBC on 27 March 27 2023.
