January hasn't even ended yet, but 2024 has already seen its first hits as the new iteration of Mean Girls continues to rock the world.

Premiering a few weeks ago, the reboot of the super-popular 2004 movie of the same name made a big splash with both fans of the original flick and a new generation of viewers. So much so that the $30 million film has already grossed nearly $70 million at the box office.

As much as audiences were compelled to see Mean Girls for the story, many were drawn to the original cast, some of whom, like Tina Fey and Tim Meadows, reprise their iconic roles and others make brief cameo appearances in the new film.

For example, Lindsay Lohan, who played Cady Heron, one of the titular girls, in the 2004 film, plays a Mathletes host in the 2024 version – the episodic role reportedly earned the actress $500,000. And it looks like the actress is already busy with her new project.

Lindsay Lohan's Collaboration with Netflix

A very successful actress, Lindsay Lohan had problems in the past as she struggled with addiction. During this time, she almost disappeared from the radar, taking on small roles in minor productions from time to time. Fortunately, the actress managed to come back from near oblivion when she signed a deal with Netflix in 2021 and subsequently appeared in the streaming service's 2022 romance, Falling for Christmas.

Following the film's success, Lohan signed another, this time two-film deal with Netflix. The first of the two movies, titled Irish Wish, is set to premiere on March 15 this year.

The actress will play Maddie, whose supposed crush is about to marry her best friend and who is invited to the wedding as a bridesmaid. However, after an ill-advised wish, Maddie wakes up as the bride herself, only to realize that this isn't the love she's looking for.

Another Christmas Rom Com Ahead

As part of the two-movie deal, Lindsay Lohan will also star in Netflix's upcoming Christmas romcom titled Our Little Secret. Although the movie is already in production, little is known about the plot. Reportedly, OLS will revolve around two exes, still full of spite for each other, who accidentally get trapped under the same roof for Christmas when they discover that their current dates are related.

Lindsay Lohan is set to star as one of the leads. Kristin Chenoweth of Schmigadoon! is also said to be in the movie.
