What Happened to Holly Marie Combs After Charmed Ended?
The popular actress has always been very busy.
Back in 1998, the whole world was shocked after the pilot episode of Charmed aired, as no one expected the show about three teenage witches to be so great and compelling to watch. The trio of leads became overnight sensations, but it was Holly Marie Combs who really stole the spotlight.
And while Combs earned rave reviews and lucrative paychecks during her time on Charmed, it looks like landing the role of a lifetime so early in her career came back to bite her after the show ended in 2006.
When Charmed went off the air, Combs found herself in a strange position: fans loved her, but producers weren't offering her any more starring roles. So the actress decided to flip a coin and sign on for Lifetime's Point of Entry, which was hated by critics and viewers. And then, just when it looked like Combs' career was falling apart, she was presented with a golden opportunity to regain her former glory.
In 2010, Combs joined Freeform's hit teen show Pretty Little Liars as Ella Montgomery, the mother of Aria, one of the show's main characters. While this part was nothing like Combs' role on Charmed, it was a great way to keep herself relevant, so the actress agreed to star in 62 episodes of the show until its finale in 2017.
After that, Combs practically stopped acting altogether, only appearing in a guest role on Grey's Anatomy and in the reality travel show Off the Map with Shannen & Holly. But that doesn't mean the star has disappeared from the public eye, as her foray into the world of podcasting has proven to be both lucrative and popular.
In 2022, Combs and her Charmed co-stars Brian Krause and Drew Fuller created The House of Halliwell / A Charmed Rewatch Podcast, in which they shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes and reminisced about the past while rewatching the episodes of the show that made them famous.
Needless to say, the podcast became a huge hit with the fantasy show's fans, making it clear that Holly Marie Combs' legacy as an actress is still remembered and appreciated by many.
