The original Cinemax series, Warrior, is set to continue for another season on HBO Max.

Fans eagerly await new developments in San Francisco's Chinatown story, hoping for a coherent and satisfying conclusion.

Drawing inspiration from the writings of the legendary Bruce Lee, the series follows Ah Sahm, a Chinese martial artist who travels to the United States in search of his sister. During his quest, he becomes entangled in the conflicts between the Tong factions of the 1870s—Chinese communities connected to organised crime.

As the story unfolds, he learns that his long-lost sister has risen to become the influential leader of the powerful Long Zii Tong.

HBO Max has yet to announce an official release date for the show's second season, but the show's producer, Chris Arruda, shared a post on his Instagram showing the soundtrack's recording and saying the new season will open on 29 June.

At the end of the second season, protagonist Ah Sahm and his friend Young Jun, the heir of the Hop Wei Tong, face off against each other after Young Jun discovers that Ah Sahm is the brother of the rival tong's leader. Meanwhile, Ah Sahm is trying to stop the Irish mob from meddling in Chinese affairs.

There is currently no information on how the upcoming season will conclude—if the creators choose to end the show at all. Regardless, fans of the gritty drama centred around the Chinese diaspora have high hopes for a fitting finale.

“Hope they knew in advance so they could give the show a proper wrap up. WBD really burning through the show roster,” Reddit user lightsongtheold says, sharing their thoughts on the situation with HBO Max, which removed many original titles after Warner Bros.'s decision to merge it with Discovery+

And yet, bidding farewell to a favourite show is never easy for fans. “Be grateful for your pain. It means you're still alive,” Redditor dtormac quotes the Fung Hai Tong leader Zing.

As we all look forward to more action in 19th-century San Francisco's Tongs, we’re also expecting to see an official announcement of the new season from HBO Max.
