Want to Play as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Requiem? Here’s How
Resident Evil Requiem doesn’t land until February 27, 2026, yet hype for the ninth mainline entry in Capcom’s survival horror saga is already off the charts—fueled by fake Leon leaks and a flashy Deluxe edition reveal. The real question is what’s driving the frenzy.
Resident Evil Requiem is still a ways off — February 27, 2026 — but the hype train is out here doing 90 with the brakes cut. Part of that is the usual rumor mill (yes, those Leon leaks are still fake), and part of it is Capcom dropping the Deluxe edition, which basically says: you want to stalk around like a nine-foot aristocratic vampire? Say less.
Lady D, by way of Grace Ashcroft
Capcom is letting players put Grace Ashcroft — the new protagonist and the fresh face of the ninth mainline Resident Evil — in a full Lady Dimitrescu getup. We are talking the white gown, the dramatic hat, the whole icy-elegance thing. The actual Countess of Casual Disembowelment probably is not showing up in Requiem, but her energy will be. It is pure cosplay, and fans are understandably into it. This series has always thrived on its gothic flair; leaning back into that is a good call.
What you get in the Deluxe edition
- Grace's Costume: Dimitrescu (the big one)
- Four additional costumes for Grace (Capcom has not revealed what they are yet)
- Weapon skins (Capcom has not specified how many)
- Two visual filters
- Two collectible charms, including the Mr. Raccoon Charm
- Raccoon City Classic audio pack for that old-school vibe
- 'Letters from 1998' — a lore-focused file set
That Mr. Raccoon Charm is a straight shot of nostalgia from Resident Evil 2, which tells you exactly what Capcom is up to here: new game, new hero, but plenty of callbacks to keep the longtime fans smiling (and nervously checking their ammo).
Why everyone cares about the dress
Lady Dimitrescu was an instant icon when Resident Evil Village hit in 2021. She ruled Castle Dimitrescu with aristocratic menace, wore that pristine white dress like a warning sign, and yes, towered over everyone. She is one of the series' most recognizable villains for a reason. Bringing her back as a costume is a clever move — it is a fan love letter and a brand flex, all while letting Grace try on that particular brand of grandeur and danger without rewriting the story.
If you are here for the Deluxe edition goodies, you are eating well. If you are holding out for a real-deal Leon moment, you are going to have to keep waiting — the leaks are noise, and nothing official has changed on that front.
Requiem is months away, but between the throwback audio, the lore files, and the couture murder dress, Capcom knows exactly which buttons to push.
