Virgin River Season 6 Is Almost Ready: Expect a Ton of Mel and Jack, Writer Says

For the first time during Virgin River's five-year run, the show will have Christmas specials that are due to be released later this month. But even though Season 5 hasn't come to an end yet, fans are already looking forward to the next installment. Fortunately, the script for it is almost finished. And that's not the only good news for viewers, says one VR writer.

What Do We Know about Season 6 of Virgin River?

Although the WGA strike has only been over for seven weeks, the writers of the Netflix show have been quick to start penning the next installment of the beloved drama. For example, Idilko Susany, a new writer on Virgin River, said that the script for Season 6 will likely be completed by the end of November.

Unlike the current and previous installments, Season 6 will have only ten episodes, marking Virgin River's return to its original number of episodes. More importantly, the show will once again revolve around Mel and Jack, exploring their relationship past the tragic events of Season 5.

'I'm not sure how much I can give away for season six, but I will say we are very excited to focus on Mel and Jack, but we will still have everyone's stories as well. We are definitely thrilled about Mel and Jack's journey in season 6,' Ildiko Susany said in an interview.

What to Expect from Part 2 of Virgin River's Fifth Season?

At the same time, we have yet to savor the upcoming Christmas episodes of Season 5. Fortunately for viewers who may be tired of the drama and tragedy of the current installment, it will bring much more mirth and levity to the table. Still, it won't be without its dramatic twists – this is Virgin River, after all.

'I don't want to give too much away, but they will be very heartwarming and fun holiday episodes, with a little bit of romance, and a little bit of an adventure for Mel and Jack,' Susany added about the upcoming Christmas episodes. 'Still drama and still a few cliffhangers for sure.'

The Christmas specials are set to premiere on November 30th.
