Fans are looking forward to it more than anything on the series.

Since its premiere in 2019, Virgin River has been Netflix's premier romance drama, beloved by viewers around the world. Following Melinda Monroe, a recently widowed nurse who moves to the titular small town, the show has explored her story in detail while also delving into the arcs of other characters.

Although Virgin River has spanned five seasons since its inception, it is notoriously slow paced. Thus, little time seems to have passed in the show's universe since its release. But there is a major time jump coming up, as VR transitions from the first part of its fifth season to the second, with two Christmas-themed episodes following the Labor Day celebrations. And that has viewers thinking about only one thing that could finally happen in the specials.

Charmaine Giving Birth to Her Twins

While Netflix is trying to keep the details of Virgin River Season 5 Part 2 secret in order to build up fans' anticipation, the streaming service is also revealing some features of the upcoming specials from time to time.

'You won't get a wedding, but you may or may not get a birth or two. The two episodes are packed. They touch on all the characters' lives. It feels good, but there are also plenty of twists and turns to get you excited about season six,' Virgin River's EP Patrick Sean Smith teased in an interview about the Christmas episodes.

This can only mean that Charmaine will finally give birth to her twins after being pregnant for five seasons. The fans are most excited about this, as it will allow the writers to finally remove the annoying character from Virgin River, as she will no longer serve any purpose.

As for the twins in question, there have been a plethora of theories as to what might happen to them. For instance, one idea is that Mel and Jack adopt the twins in case Charmaine dies in labor. This may prove difficult, however, since it's not certain that Charmaine will die, and the twins' father, Calvin, has expressed an interest in taking care of them.

Unusual Event

As for the time jump itself, it is indeed a rather unexpected turn of events for Virgin River, which is known for being extremely drawn out. There have been time jumps before, but they were minor. Now the show is about to skip almost four months, going from Labor Day to Christmas. Guess we'll have to wait and see how that plays out when Part 2 premieres on November 30th.
