Virgin River Season 5 Fan Verdict: Pretty Good After All
The new installment has turned out alright despite all the criticism.
Over the past decade, Netflix has produced hundreds of shows, many of which have largely gone unnoticed. However, there are titles that have achieved worldwide fame. Among them, the streaming service's hit drama Virgin River, has enjoyed significant success since its debut in 2019.
It's been a month since the premiere of the fifth season of Virgin River, implying that every fan should have watched the new installment by now. While the release was highly anticipated, being one of the few available this fall, there was no consensus among fans regarding their opinion of season 5. That is, until now.

Although Virgin River Season 5 garnered mostly positive reviews from critics, the audience wasn't unanimous in their verdict. Some fans were thrilled to see their beloved characters once again, others appreciated the intense plot of the fifth installment, while a few didn't feel either sentiment. In their view, season 5 was too rushed and failed to properly develop many of the new characters introduced to the show.
Fortunately, the Virgin River Reddit community recently conducted a poll, asking fans to rate season 5. Evidently, most fans found the new season quite enjoyable, albeit not as good as some previous installments.

Many viewers have voiced their support for Virgin River's fifth season.
'I definitely enjoyed it but not as much as the first 2 seasons. I don't get the hate. People are upset about the miscarriage expecting this show to be all unicorns and rainbows when it's always had sad stories,' a Reddit user wrote.
Interestingly, most fans tend to agree, with only a few individuals criticizing the new installment of the beloved show.
'It is a soap at the end of the day. And the characters need to be constantly battling something or the show would fall apart. I don't think they choose the best obstacles for some of them but they have to always have something going on,' another Redditor chimed in.
There are two more Christmas episodes to watch before we can make a final judgment on season 5 of Virgin River. The specials will be dropping on November 30.
