[VIDEO]: Maisie Williams' Twilight Scene Redo is Comedy Gold
It looks like Williams has found a role she was born to play.
While Maisie Williams was one of the biggest breakout actors to come out of Game of Thrones, she hasn't really been able to sustain her career after the show ended, taking small roles in various indie films. However, thanks to her time as Arya Stark, the actress still enjoys an immense amount of attention from fans, posting to more than 10 million subscribers on her Instagram.
Williams has been keeping a low profile as an actress lately, but it looks like she has found another calling — as a sketch comedian. Recently, the actress posted a hilarious Instagram reel spoofing an infamous cringe scene from the first Twilight movie.
In the video, Maisie Williams and her friends perfectly recreate the scene where Bella meets Edward's vampire family for the first time, and seeing the Games of Thrones actress play characters like Carlisle Cullen and Rosalie Hale made fans feel that scene's cringeness even more. Many admitted they laughed out loud when watching the reel, as the actors managed to copy even the small gestures of Twilight's original cast.
'I have watched that ten times. The waving knife gets me every time,' one fan commented.
Fans loved the parody so much that they began to wonder how a short video like this could overdo the entire Twilight franchise when Maisie and her friends had no budget or help from Hollywood studios.
'Why is this scene better than an entire saga?' a fan joked.
Moreover, after seeing the video, people began to campaign for Williams and her friends to reshoot the entire first Twilight movie and release it on YouTube or another service. Though it's unlikely that Maisie will spend so much time creating spoofs, fans are still keen for the Games of Thrones actress to unleash her inner vampire and deliver more hilarious reels like that.
And besides, it might be that Maisie Williams has just earned herself a role in the upcoming Twilight reboot with the hilarious redo! Who knows — perhaps one of the series' creators is among the 100 thousand people who liked the video?
