The current season of the show hasn't been particularly exciting.

Now that the Blind Auditions of The Voice's twenty-fifth season are over and the coaches' teams are complete, it's time to give our verdict on the current installment of the popular singing competition.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be very flattering, as Season 25 has so far proven to be dull and unentertaining. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the show is in its twenty-fifth iteration and must be running on fumes, but there are many other more relevant reasons why it's so boring.

So-So Contestants

Unlike Season 24, there weren't many four-chair turns this season, which shows that the level of talent among the contestants is quite low. In Season 24, Nini Iris, Mara Justine and many others instantly won over the audience and coaches with their vocal abilities and charisma. This season, however, the contestants were not as intriguing and, unfortunately, not as talented.

Forgettable Performances

As a result, there's hardly a performance that can be called breathtaking. Sure, Val T. Webb's rendition of Nobody's Supposed to Be Here, Gene Taylor's Lights, Asher HaVon's Set Fire to the Rain, Dani Stacy's I Will Survive, and Maddi Jane's Escapism were noteworthy and perhaps the best auditions of the season, but they're nothing compared to the fifty-two total performances in Season 25.

Sudsy

Since its premiere in 2011, The Voice has been loved by audiences for its focus on talent and music, rather than the tragic backgrounds of some of the contestants. This used to set the singing competition apart from other talent shows like American Idol and America's Got Talent. In Season 25, however, The Voice also started using the sad factor to appeal to viewers, but it only makes the show impossible to watch and turns off many fans.

No Dynamics between the Judges

Although fan-favorite coach Blake Shelton departed in Season 23, along with Kelly Clarkson, who has since moved her eponymous talk show to New York, Season 24 still had a brilliant panel of coaches, including Reba McEntire and John Legend, who have returned this season, Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani. The four had sizzling chemistry and their lively and hilarious banter was one of the reasons why The Voice 24 was so popular. In Season 25, there is simply no dynamic between the coaches and their antics and shenanigans seem lame.

Big Shoes to Fill

Ultimately, the current iteration of the show seems bland compared to the success of Season 24 of The Voice, which had many brilliant, charismatic contestants and memorable performances. Hopefully, Season 25 will have something to surprise us and change our minds over the course of its run.

Episode 7 is scheduled to air on March 18.
