Here are just five of the most anticipated animated films coming out next year.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (4th March)
One of the most famous and beloved DreamWorks franchises is about to get its fourth installment, eight years after the release of the third movie. Following the fan-favorite titular character on his new journey, Kung Fu Panda 4 will pit him against another powerful enemy, the Chameleon, voiced by the wonderful Viola Davis. However, this enemy is much more like Po than his previous foes, so he'll have to go to great lengths to defeat her and reinvent himself.
The Garfield Movie (24th May)
Following the beloved, world-famous cat, the upcoming movie premiere will take us on a journey with Garfield as he finds himself on the streets, adjusting to a life without pampering and comfort. The film will also see him forge a relationship with his newfound father, street cat Vic, who will change Garfield's life forever.
Inside Out 2 (14th June)
Nine years after its debut, the franchise gets another installment that will once again revolve around the beloved personifications of human emotion - joy, sadness, anger, fear, and disgust - all of which reside within Riley, who is familiar to fans of the first film. Only this time, as Riley grows older and her personality becomes more complex, there will be new characters to follow. In other words, this movie will be a perfect example of what happens to a person as they mature.
Despicable Me 4 (3d July)
This somewhat ridiculous franchise from Illumination is beloved around the world. Centered around Gru, a former villain turned good guy, and his giant team of adorable minions, the fourth film will follow them on yet another journey. The plot hasn't been revealed yet, but it's sure to be one of the biggest releases of the summer of 2024.
Mufasa: The Lion King (20th December)
Serving as a prequel to the 2019 live-action remake and Disney's highest-grossing animated film, The Lion King, this film will take us on another quest across the African savannah.
