You deserve a medal for dedication if you managed to turn a blind eye to these five.

Among the many series on Netflix, Virgin River is perhaps the quintessential comfort show. Set in the fictional Northern California town of the same name, the romantic drama centers on Melinda Monroe, a nurse who moves to VR in hopes of starting her life over.

Over the course of five seasons, Virgin River has attracted millions of viewers from around the world thanks to the show's cozy atmosphere. But the Netflix series also has plenty of eye-rollingly annoying features.

Here are five things that may have put off many viewers over the years.

Instant Romance

Mel comes to Virgin River and immediately finds a man, Jack, who falls head over heels in love with her. Even though Brie and Brady may have known each other through Jack, they also hit it off instantly. Preacher is the epitome of a 'fast lover,' as he's willing to profess his love for any woman he's known for a few days. The only real relationship on the show is between Hope and Doc. Isn't that annoying?

Black or White Characters

Another annoying thing about Virgin River is that it tells you in a very obvious way which characters you should like and which you should despise. Thus, Mel and Doc are the good guys and Charmaine is a bitter b*tch who doesn't want the main characters to be happy. Sounds boring, right?

Lack of Logic

A lot of dubious things happen on Virgin River that logically should not have happened or should have happened differently. For example, it never occurred to Jack to take a paternity test on Charmaine's twins, which would have eliminated the entire arc. Or Preacher and Paige never thought to go to the police after Wes' death to show that it was an accident and a case of self-defense, and instead dumped the body in the woods. Inconceivable!

Love Triangles

Virgin River has more love triangles than any other drama. Mel-Jack-Charmaine, Hope-Doc-Muriel, Brady-Brie-Mike, Ricky-Lizzie-Denny – these are just the ones that come to mind. It's overwhelming for a show that's supposed to bring you comfort but instead tortures its characters.

Pacing

The most annoying thing about Virgin River is its incomprehensible pacing. The show premiered in 2019 and has been running for five seasons since then, but only a little over a year has passed on the show, resulting in such ridiculous things as Charmaine's five-season pregnancy.
