Tonks Turns Teacher? Natalia Tena's Exciting Idea for Harry Potter TV Reboot
The beloved character may very well return in the reboot.
Harry Potter remains one of the most popular franchises in the movie industry, with the original eight films starring Daniel Radcliffe as the boy who lived grossing more than $7 billion worldwide. And the popularity of J. K. Rowling's fantasy world only increased after that, with millions of people wanting to see the beloved characters on the big screen again.
So, HBO Max decided to make fans' dreams come true, albeit with a twist – the streaming service will reboot the entire story with a completely new cast.
While the young actors playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione have yet to be announced, fans are already speculating that actors from the original films may return to the Harry Potter universe as different characters, perhaps taking on the roles of Hogwarts professors instead of students.
Imagine what it would be like to see Rupert Grint as Remus Lupin or Tom Felton as Lucius Malfoy. And luckily, it looks like at least one of the original Harry Potter actors is open to the idea.
Natalia Tena, famous for her portrayal of Nymphadora Tonks, the late wife of Lupin and former Hufflepuff, recently revealed she was keen on the notion of returning to the Harry Potter universe, perhaps as one of the teachers in the HBO Max reboot.
'And actually, when I found out about the HBO thing, I think there's that initial thing as an actor where you're like, "Oh, don't remake something..." But then I was like, "No, it's gonna be amazing!" I got really excited about it. And then I was like, "Do you think I'm old enough now to play one of the teachers? How can I get another gig on this amazing project?" So, I'm definitely putting that to my agent,' Tena said.
And fans are one hundred per cent behind the actress in her quest to return to the Harry Potter universe, arguing that with the larger scope of the reboot, it would be possible to pay much more attention to the supporting characters, something that was painfully lacking in the original movie franchise.
And with Tena on board, the original's fans would be happy to see the connection between the two projects, even if Tena appears as a completely different character.
