Thomas Markle Hasn't Lost Hope for Reconciliation With Meghan Yet
The father of the controversial Duchess wants to start a new life with his daughter, but can he really?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are definitely one of the most controversial couples in the world right now, and not because of their private life, but because of how their own families treat them. It's no secret that King Charles and Prince William have been very offended by Harry and Meghan's various interviews that have cast a shadow over the royal family, probably treating Meghan as a homewrecker and an intruder.
But the fact that Meghan's relationship with her own father is much more stingy than with the royal folks over in England may have escaped some fans.
Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, is a very well-known retired television lighting director and cinematographer who worked on many successful projects including General Hospital, Married with Children, and once oversaw the lighting for the 1984 Summer Olympics in LA. With a career like that and a daughter who's marrying an English prince, you'd think Thomas would be the luckiest man in the world, but it's actually quite the opposite.
Meghan hasn't spoken to her dad in almost four years, and even his stroke during that time, which left him partially paralyzed and unable to properly speak, hasn't made her reach out to him. And that's certainly hurting the old man, as his recent comments about his daughter sounded more like a lament than an angry rant.
'She killed me, and then she mourned me. I refuse to be buried by her. I think Harry should take the lead here and try to put us back together some way,' Thomas said.
While fans do not want to interfere in Meghan's private family life, most of them are still hoping that the ex-actress will make things right between her and her father, as he is 78 years old and his health is not that great. It shouldn't be forgotten that Meghan got her start as an actress thanks to her dad, who got her small parts in General Hospital and Married with Children.
Meghan and Harry are clearly happy with each other, so people naturally hope that their situation with in-laws will be fixed quite soon so as not to spoil their private and public life.
