This is What SAG Strike Essentially Means for Bridgerton Season 3
Fans are concerned that the upcoming season may be postponed.
The Writers Guild of America strike, which started in early May, has already become one of the biggest problems Hollywood has faced in decades, as dozens of high-profile movies and TV shows have been delayed indefinitely because writers simply refused to work on them. Now it looks like an even bigger problem has just surfaced, as the Screen Actors Guild has decided to join the WGA on picket lines.
This means that thousands of actors associated with the union will cease their work on any ongoing productions, and they won't participate in promotional campaigns for projects that have already been filmed. With this in mind, fans of Netflix's hit romance series Bridgerton began to worry about the future of their beloved show.
Fortunately, the upcoming Season 3 of the romantic drama had already completed filming before the WGA strike began, so fans can rest assured that the season won't be delayed like Netflix's Stranger Things, but the SAG strike could change all that. With the actors currently on strike, all of Bridgerton's castmates are prohibited from promoting the upcoming season, which could force Netflix to postpone the long-awaited installment for the foreseeable future.
However, most of the fandom believes that Netflix will still premiere Season 3 around December this year, even if the actors won't promote it at all. The streaming giant is currently struggling with a lot of financial issues, and the postponement of such a hugely popular show could really ruin Netflix's viewership numbers.
'December is the most profitable month so for Netflix to lose subscribers then and have no big releases would be a huge loss of money. And since it all ultimately boils down to money, I think they will push that S3 out no matter how,' one fan said.
Moreover, some people believe that the actors joining the writers on strike will help the whole issue get resolved much sooner, as it is virtually impossible to work on TV series and movies without actors.
'Even if it pains me, I want actors to go on strike because that will put an end date to the overall strike much faster. We suffer either way, but I feel the consequences would be worse as if actors don't strike and the writer's strike continues for who knows how long, then S4 will be severely affected. I feel a combined strike would get things moving,' another fan argued.
Fingers crossed for Bridgerton Season 3 this year!
