It's only a part of a bigger franchise that keeps growing.

Summary

  • American Horror Story is one of the most beloved shows on TV.
  • The audience isn't keen on the twelfth season.
  • The larger franchise lives on despite AHS' shortcomings.

It's been three weeks since the most recent episode of American Horror Story's twelfth season aired, but fans don't seem to miss the show. Since its debut in 2011, AHS has been a staple of TV viewing for many Americans enamored with the anthology series that explores a different story each season.

From the magical adventures of a coven of witches to the chilling events inside a mental institution, the plots of American Horror Story have fascinated viewers for over a decade. The current, twelfth season centers on Anna Alcott, a pregnant woman who experiences anxiety and all kinds of hallucinations that lead her to believe someone is trying to harm her and her unborn baby. And while it sounds like an exciting thriller, viewers are not too fond of season 12, subtitled Delicate. As a result, many people feel that this is starting to look like the end of AHS.

More Installments Ahead

Although we're halfway through Season 12, AHS has been renewed past its thirteenth installment in 2020, meaning there will be at least one more iteration of the anthology series. More likely, the show will get several more seasons after that.

Most importantly, Delicate is yet to drop its second half, which will be this season's most eventful and exciting, and may also win over the audience, who will completely change their opinion of the twelfth installment. Remarkably, the release date hasn't been announced yet, which only helps to build anticipation for the season.

American Story Franchise

You might be surprised to learn that Ryan Murphy's anthology horror series is part of his larger franchise of the same format called American Story. Apart from AHS, the TV goliath comprises three-installment American Crime Story, another horror show, titled American Horror Stories, and will soon get American Sports Story.

In the usual anthology format, the upcoming show will explore the lives and careers of several athletes, including Aaron Hernandez and Tim Tebow. The former was recently revealed to be portrayed by Josh Andrés Rivera who also stars in the soon-to-premiere installment of The Hunger Games – The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

American Sports Story's release date is currently undisclosed.

As for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, it is set to hit the theaters on 17th November.
