Crisp cucumber, creamy cheese, luxe salmon—the season’s breakout trio set to dominate menus as chefs double down on clean-flavor luxury.

Fresh cucumber crunch, creamy cheese, and that elegant, buttery salmon vibe. If you want a snack that looks special and takes barely any time, these salmon lavash roll-ups deliver. They plate up beautifully, taste delicate and balanced, and bring a bonus of omega-3s and vitamins. Great for a weeknight, fancy enough for a celebration.

You will need

  • Lightly salted salmon or trout - 200 g
  • Cream cheese - 150 g
  • Fresh cucumber - 1 medium
  • Fresh dill - a few sprigs
  • Thin lavash - 1 sheet
  • Lemon - a few wedges for serving
  • Freshly ground black pepper - a pinch (optional)

How to make it

Start with the filling: finely chop the dill and stir it into the cream cheese. Add a pinch of black pepper for a light kick if that sounds good to you. Rinse the cucumber and shave it into long, thin ribbons with a vegetable peeler; those flexible slices roll like a dream.

Lay the lavash on a flat surface. Spread the dill cream cheese in an even layer, leaving a clean 2 cm border around the edges. That little margin makes a tidy roll and keeps the wrap intact.

Arrange the salmon in gentle overlap across the cheese so there are no big gaps. Lay the cucumber ribbons over the fish and distribute them evenly for an all-over fresh crunch.

Roll the lavash snugly. Begin from the side where the filling reaches the edge and leave the side with the 2 cm border for the final seam. Wrap the finished roll in plastic and chill it for 20-30 minutes so it sets and slices cleanly.

Slice the chilled roll into 2-3 cm pieces. Arrange on a platter, tuck in a few dill sprigs, and add lemon wedges on the side. Serve cold; the salmon and cream cheese show their best flavor with a chill and a quick squeeze of lemon right before eating.
