These 3 Characters Definitely Not Returning in Fire Country Season 2
Fire Country has no qualms about killing off its characters.
In just one season, the new CBS firefighter show has garnered the affection of viewers and established a sizable fan base. Created by and starring Max Thieriot, Fire Country tells the story of a convict, Bode Donovan, who joins the Cal Fire branch in his hometown to redeem himself and reduce his sentence.
Season 1 of Fire Country ran for 22 episodes, from October 2022 to May 2023. In January of this year, the show was renewed for Season 2, much to the delight of its fans. Although the exact release date for the new episodes hasn't been announced yet, it's safe to assume that the season will premiere in the fall.
Even though not a lot is known about the plot of the second season, viewers can certainly expect the storylines to be just as gripping and occasionally shocking as they were in the first season. The show is not afraid to kill off its characters, contributing to the suspense and unpredictability that keep viewers glued to the screen. Therefore, judging by the events of Season 1, there are three characters we will likely not see in the upcoming episodes.
Rebecca Lee (Fiona Rene)
Episode 15, False Promises, shocked many viewers. While attempting to rescue Eve Edwards from under a fallen tree, Rebecca was accidentally crushed by it. Although the team eventually extricated Rebecca, her injuries proved fatal and, much to the dismay of fans, she succumbed to them in the hospital. Rebecca was one of the most positive characters on the show, and her sudden death dramatically changed the series for everyone.
Meg (Hilary Jardine)
The story of Meg in Episode 9, No Good Deed, was a significant character development moment for probationary firefighter Gabriela Perez. Meg, a hit-and-run driver who nearly killed two teenagers and injured herself in a car accident, was hiding in the woods to evade justice. When Gabriela and Bode found her, her injuries required immediate attention, and Gabriela performed minor surgery, oblivious to the secondary health problem Meg had. That led to Meg's death, and it goes without saying that the character will not be returning in Season 2.
Riley Leone (Jade Pettyjohn)
Episode 2, The Fresh Prince of Edgewater, showed that the stakes are high in Fire Country. In one of the most tragic and poignant moments of the series, Bode's younger sister Riley was revealed to have died in a car accident through a flashback. Although it was a glimpse into the past, viewers came to know and love Riley, who we are unlikely to see again.
