Ji Chang-wook is an actor who regularly makes the list of the most talented artists in South Korea. He started his career in musicals, and his first significant role in a TV series was the family drama Smile, Dong Hae.

Chang-wook reached a new level after the 2013 hit historical TV series Empress Ki.

1. If You Wish Upon Me, 2022

Yoon Gyeo-ree's life hasn't been going well since his childhood. He was bullied at the orphanage, then sent to a juvenile detention center, and then Yoon ended up in prison. Gyeo-ree knows nothing but beatings and suffering.

But then he is sent to do community service at a hospice for cancer patients. In this seemingly unhappy place, Gyeo-ree learns about a completely different life. Together with the hospice workers, he fulfills the last precious wishes of the dying patients.

2. Empress Ki, 2013-2014

The 14th century, Goryeo under the yoke of the Mongol Yuan Dynasty. A young Korean girl, Seung-nyang, and her mother, along with other women, are forcibly sent to the court of the Yuan emperor. The young prince of Goryeo, Wang Yoo, intervenes in the procession and helps the hostages escape – her mother fails to escape and the girl is left alone.

Years later, Seung-nyang searches for a way to avenge her mother's death and helps the oppressed women of her people. One day, she gets the chance to enter the palace and begins her journey from servant to powerful ruler.

3. Suspicious Partner, 2017

Eun Bong-hee is an intern at the Ministry of Justice who always ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time. The girl is accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend, which of course she did not do.

Her colleague Noh Ji-wook is the prosecutor of the case, with whom Bong-hee has a strained relationship, but who is willing to believe in her innocence. Ji-wook, risking his career, helps the woman to get free. After each of them is out of work, they start their own law firm and decide to find the real killer.

4. The Worst of Evil, 2023

Seoul, 1990s. Criminal Jung Gi-cheul sells a new powerful drug. The police can't help but notice such audacity, but they know almost nothing about the new substance. To find out more about the drug and the organization itself, Park Jun-mo, a rural policeman, infiltrates the gang.

During the investigation, he is surprised to discover that his wife, Detective Yoo Eui-jeong, is not only leading the case, but also has a past relationship with drug lord Gi-cheul.

The Disney+ crime drama is definitely not for light-hearted viewing. The story delves into the dark criminal world of the streets of Seoul and asks uncomfortable questions about the boundaries of good and evil.

5. Healer, 2014-2015

Seo Jung-hoo is a mysterious night courier known as the Healer. With the help of his partner, the brilliant hacker Ahjumma, he delivers any data to his clients.

A new job brings Jung-hoo together with aspiring journalist Chae Young-shin and successful reporter Kim Moon-ho. Together, they decide to uncover a mystery related to the tragic past of their relatives who ran an anti-government radio station.

Healer is a gripping 20-episode drama with elements of mystery, action and romance. At the time of its release, the project received the highest ratings not only in South Korea, but also in other Asian countries.
