The two-part format is starting to bore fans.

With lots of series delayed or canceled due to the WGA and upcoming SAG-AFTRA strikes, Netflix's The Witcher Season 3 has been viewers' main guilty pleasure this summer.

Though many fans of Andrzej Sapkowski's novel series have panned the show's earlier seasons, the third installment boasts plenty of positive moments, most notably the excellent performances from cast and mostly successful adaptation of the events in the books.

Yesterday, The Witcher fans received some great news to brighten up the dark times that the television industry is facing right now, as Netflix made an announcement about the release of the second part of Season 3. However, not everyone agrees that the update is indeed encouraging: many viewers are getting increasingly annoyed by the two-part season format, which has become popular with Netflix and other streaming services.

On June 13, Netflix's official YouTube channel released a trailer for the upcoming Part 2 of The Witcher's third installment. It seems that the last episodes starring Henry Cavell will be much more faithful to the novels, introducing events of the Thanedd coup from Sapkowski's Time of Contempt, as well as some new characters and scenes from the next book, Baptism of Fire.

Even though the trailer looks rather promising, fans are upset about the total episode count, arguing that there was no point in splitting the season in two.

'I wish there was more than 3 episodes,' a fan commented on Reddit, echoing the sentiment of many.

Yes, Volume 2 of The Witcher Season 3 will only have three episodes, and their exact running time is still unknown. However, those will most likely be feature-length episodes, similar to the second part of Stranger Things Season 4. Evidently, Netflix could just release all Season 3 episodes as a bunch, or one after the other, but the producers decided to split the season most likely to make fans subscribe. This, of course, is a rather cheap tactic that annoys many viewers nowadays.

But despite this major letdown, the Part 2 trailer looks great and suggests that the upcoming episodes will fix the problems that disappointed viewers in Part 1. Unlike Episodes 1 through 5, which were criticized for cheap-looking visuals and poor editing, the second part of the season seems much more spectacular, making fans eager to see all three episodes in full.

Volume 2 of The Witcher Season 3 will be released on July 27. The three episodes will be the last starring Henry Cavill, who will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth in Season 4.
