HBO's The White Lotus is a satirical anthology from Mike White. Season 1 launched in 2021 in Hawaii. Season 2 hopped to Sicily in 2022. The most recent season landed in Thailand in 2025. Next stop: France. Plot details are locked up, but the location is set, and the guest list is coming together.
The new confirmations
Per Variety, three names are officially in for Season 4. Two of them were rumored before; now they are signed. One is a fresh face making a TV debut. Here is the breakdown:
- Helena Bonham Carter — You know her as Bellatrix Lestrange from the Harry Potter films, and she has a whole run of Tim Burton collaborations on the resume: Big Fish (2003), Corpse Bride (2005), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Alice in Wonderland (2010), and Dark Shadows (2012). She is also a two-time Oscar nominee for The Wings of the Dove (1997) and The King’s Speech (2010).
- Chris Messina — TV folks will clock him as Danny Castellano from The Mindy Project and Ted Fairwell from Six Feet Under. On the film side: Julie & Julia (2009), Devil (2010), Argo (2012), Birds of Prey (2020), and Juror #2 (2024).
- Marissa Long — Making her television debut with this season.
Who else is attached
Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Alexander Ludwig, and AJ Michalka are already on the Season 4 roster. That is a nicely eclectic mix, which is right in this show's wheelhouse.
Timing and everything else
No premiere date on Max yet. Consider this the fancy appetizer course while we wait for the main meal. The headline, though, is simple: France is the setting, the cast is stacking up, and the show is clearly not done finding new ways to make the most beautiful vacations go sideways.
