It is always exciting when your favorite show is about to start a new season. But it's even more exciting when it comes to anthology series that tell different stories each season. HBO's hit series The White Lotus is a prime example.

Premiering in 2021, Mike White's satirical dramedy was an instant hit, winning over audiences around the world with its dynamic storytelling. The show, which follows a group of wealthy visitors to The White Lotus resort hotel chain and its staff, has explored the ugly side of life for the rich and famous over its two-season run.

More importantly, TWL has done so in the most compelling and amusing way possible, which is perhaps why viewers are looking forward to the third installment. To add to the excitement for the new season, it's been announced that BLACKPINK's Lisa has joined the cast.

BLACKPINK's Expansion to HBO

Lisa has reportedly been cast as an unspecified character in the third season of The White Lotus. The show will be set in Thailand and will take place in the tourist destinations of Phuket and Bangkok, where it will once again feature a new resort hotel from the TWL chain. As BLACKPINK's Lisa is of Thai descent, there are many opportunities for her to be a part of the plot.

The White Lotus will be Lisa's first foray into acting after the success of her solo career. The artist released her first solo album, titled Lalisa, in 2021 and has been on tour promoting it ever since. Interestingly enough, she won't be the first BLACKPINK member to appear on an HBO show. Last year, Jennie starred in the network's most controversial project, The Idol, which was canceled after its first season.

Little is known about the next installment of Mike White's popular anthology series. While filming is supposed to begin this month, no details about Season 3 have been revealed so far, aside from the cast. The Gilded Age's Carrie Coon, ER's Leslie Bibb, Sex Education's Aimee Lou Wood will be joining Patrick Schwarzenegger and Natasha Rothwell, who will reprise her role from the first season, in the third installment.

The White Lotus' ultimate star, Jennifer Coolidge, won't be returning to the show after her character's hilariously tragic death at the end of Season 2. Season 3 of TWL is scheduled to be released sometime in 2025.
