The Voice: 5 Predictions for Team Niall in Season 23 Playoffs
Only 2 out 5 Team Niall members will stay.
So far, the first playoffs of season 23 have taken place, leaving Blake Shelton, the show's ever-present coach who will be departing after this season, and Chance the Rapper with only two contestants each left on their teams.
Kelly Clarkson and Niall Horan's artists are up next to compete for just a couple of spots in the show's final episodes. Each coach has five contestants, but only two will be chosen to advance to the next round. Here is a list of Niall Horan's team members, along with some predictions regarding the potential winners of the upcoming playoffs.
5. Michael B.
An original Team Niall member, Michael B. has come a long way on The Voice this season. He performed The Weeknd's Save Your Tears during the very first blind auditions of Season 23 and was specifically chosen by Niall. Since then, Michael has performed Heartbreak Anniversary by Giveon and When You're Gone by Shawn Mendes. It seems, however, Michael doesn’t have enough charm to propel himself to the next round.
4. Ross Clayton
Another original contestant from Team Niall, Ross appeared on The Voice during the first blind auditions with a rendition of Blue Ain't Your Color by Keith Urban. All four coaches turned their chairs for him, but Ross chose Niall Horan and has stayed with him throughout the season, performing Stevie Nicks' Stop Draggin' My Heart Around and Steely Dan's Dirty Work. Nevertheless, Ross isn’t in Niall’s preferred genre and won’t probably be his next choice.
3. Tasha Jessen
Although Tasha joined Season 23 during the first blind auditions with her version of River by Leon Bridges, she initially went to Team Blake and competed under his guidance through the knockouts, performing Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' The Tracks of My Tears and Hozier's Take Me to Church.
However, she was stolen by Niall and now enters the playoffs as a member of his team. Given that, Tasha has the potential to be one the two contestants Niall will keep.
2. Ryley Tate Wilson
This fifteen-year-old entered the competition during the third blind auditions this season with a masterful rendition of Robyn's Dancing On My Own and received a playoff pass from Niall Horan after battling with Michael B. on Giveon's Heartbreak Anniversary. The playoffs will be Ryley's next appearance on The Voice, and he seems to have broad support from both his coach and the audience, topping our list.
1. Gina Miles
Having joined the show during the fifth round of blind auditions with Katy Perry's The One That Got Away, Gina was sought after by Kelly Clarkson and Niall Horan. However, Gina chose Niall and has remained on his team ever since, enriching it with her performances of Skinny Love by Bon Iver and Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye. Miles is the fans' absolute favourite and appears to have the highest chance of progressing to the next round.
We’ll see if our predictions come true on 8 May when the next playoffs air on NBC.
