The Ultimate Roblox Halloween Spotlight Guide: Unlock Every Item and Beat Every Objective

Roblox just flipped the switch on its Halloween Spotlight event, which basically means a giant scavenger hunt across a bunch of popular experiences, with free avatar items on the line if you grind smart. It runs through November 3, 2025, so you have time — but not that much time — to sweep everything.

What this event actually is

You collect two kinds of tokens while playing Spotlight-participating games:

- Runes: regular tokens you earn by clearing the easier objectives.
- Keys: the elite tokens tied to the harder follow-up tasks.

Every Rune and Key you pick up ticks boxes in those experiences (think Adopt Me, The Mimic, Bloxburg, etc.). Grab the full set of Runes and Keys before the deadline and you unlock the grand prize. Yes, really, you have to get them all.

How the Keepsakes system works (this is the part people miss)

The free avatar items for this event are called Keepsakes. They are not sitting in your inventory by default — they are hidden in a cave off the Halloween Spotlight hub, locked behind the Runes/Keys you’ve earned out in the games.

Here’s the flow:

- As soon as you have 2 Runes, head to the hub map and look for the stone signboards marked I, II, III, and IIII (yes, four I’s). The Codex menu shows where these areas are and tracks your progress.
- Walk past the signboard marked I first. Inside that zone are three Keepsakes. You’ll need to solve a few light puzzles/obbies to nab them.
- Unlocking any area costs 2 Runes. They get consumed, but the area stays open once you’ve paid the toll.
- Each area also has a big locked gate that needs 2 Keys. Past that gate is another puzzle or obby with another Keepsake at the end, so do not go in empty-handed.
- Clear out all Keepsakes in an area and you’ll see your Codex progress move. Rinse and repeat across II, III, and IIII until you’ve looted the lot.

Short version: earn Runes and Keys in participating games, spend them to open zones in the hub cave, then platform and puzzle your way to the hidden Keepsakes. It’s a neat loop, even if the Key gates can be a bottleneck.

Every participating game and what you need to do

• Strongman Ultra — Rune: Pull lollipops to farm enough Candy to open the Pumpkin Cave portal; Key: Inside the cave, pull pumpkins until you build the bridge to the final chest; Difficulty: Minimal
• 99 Nights in the Forest — Rune: Successfully Trick or Treat at one house in the Haunted Forest; Key: Trick or Treat at all 10 different houses; Difficulty: Minimal
• The Mimic — Rune: Enter the Haunted Asylum, find the cursed objects, and burn them; Key: Survive the clown’s tag, then win hide-and-seek against the Ringmaster; Difficulty: Moderate
• PETAPETA — Rune: Survive the nightmare and collect 20 hidden pumpkins around the school; Key: Escape the school alive after securing your Rune; Difficulty: Mild
• Armless Detective — Rune: Play and win a match on the limited-time Cursed Cathedral map; Key: Win a solo Cursed Cathedral game, then Trick or Treat at 150 houses; Difficulty: Minimal
• Tower Heroes — Rune: Beat the Bramble boss and complete the Doors Outdoors Quest; Key: Sneak through Alistair’s Manor and make it out; Difficulty: Minimal

• Adopt Me! — Rune: Earn 4,000 total Candy from event minigames; Key: Earn at least 3,000 Candy from minigames three separate times; Difficulty: Minimal
• Michael’s Zombies — Rune: On Hallow’s Eve, find the pumpkin merchant and trade in a Pack-a-Punch’d weapon; Key: Track down the hints and solve the riddle to crack the safe code; Difficulty: Moderate
• World Zero — Rune: Find all hidden pumpkins; Key: Defeat the Fallen King boss in a final showdown; Difficulty: Mild
• NFL Universe Football — Rune: In 'Play Now' mode, make 10 defensive blocks to help your team win; Key: Conquer the on-field gauntlet; Difficulty: Minimal
• Wierd Gun Game — Rune: Kill 75 zombies in the Halloween event; Key: Survive 20 rounds in the Halloween event; Difficulty: Mild

Final notes and a mild pro tip

Minimal difficulty usually means quick chores. Moderate ones can spike a bit, especially the multi-step ones with bosses or survival waves. Either way, the real gating happens back in the hub when a door wants 2 Keys at once — plan your Key routes so you are not backtracking.
