It looks like the paparazzi are afraid to bug Cole Hauser thanks to one of his most famous roles.

Cole Hauser has enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years, all thanks to his role as Rip Wheeler in the hit Paramount+ series Yellowstone.

While viewers adore Rip, calling him one of the best characters on the show, as recently as two decades ago, Hauser's fans would have been disappointed to see their favorite actor in a supporting role.

In the early 2000s, Hauser was one of the most promising young performers in Hollywood, and many believed that he would soon reach the upper echelon of actors. Sadly, that never happened, but at least Hauser got one benefit from that time — the paparazzi never dared to follow him. Here's why.

Hauser's first chance to prove himself as a great leading man came in 2004 with the release of the action thriller movie Paparazzi.

In the film, Hauser played Bo Laramie, a superstar actor who decides to rid the world of the paparazzi after his family dies in a car accident caused by photographers.

While the movie was a huge financial disappointment, it became a cult hit, and it would be fair to say that every paparazzo is required to watch it before getting the job.

'I turned around and there was this guy taking pictures of me and my son. And my kid was a baby, so I looked at him and I stopped. And he pulled his camera down and looked at me — and he goes, "Oh, s***!" I go, "What?" And he goes, "You just gave me the Bo Laramie look." And he ran off. And that was really the last time I think they ever messed with me. They stayed away, and I was lucky that way,'

Hauser told Cowboys and Indians.

Yep, it looks like Hauser got the perk that even the biggest Hollywood stars would give their right arm for because, despite his successful career, he was never bothered by paparazzi. Fans loved hearing this anecdote from the star, noting that he is just as cool as Rip Wheeler in real life.
