Netflix’s behind-the-scenes deep dive One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 unpacks the final season with cast and crew — but two of the show’s biggest stars are missing from the interviews, and there’s a reason.

Netflix has a new Stranger Things making-of doc on the way, and it has a glaring omission: two of the show’s biggest faces aren’t in it. Not because of drama, not because of secrecy — just plain old scheduling. Slightly anticlimactic, I know.

The documentary is called 'One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5', and it tracks the final season’s long road to the finish line with fresh interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. But if you’re hoping to hear from Winona Ryder or David Harbour in the doc, you won’t — they didn’t sit for interviews.

Director Martina Radwan told Variety it simply came down to logistics. No covert feuds, no contract battles. Just work calendars refusing to cooperate.

'No, they are not. We just didn’t get the time. They were busy with other projects, and so we didn’t have the time to sit down... Unfortunately, with David and Winona, we couldn’t find the time. We tried.'

To clarify the obvious follow-up: even on set, the timing never lined up. Happens more than you’d think, especially on a final season where every hour is chaos.

As for what you do get: the doc follows the cast, creators, and crew over roughly a year of work as they build out the last chapter and say goodbye to the show that rewired pop culture over the past decade — the scope is big, and the vibe is farewell tour.

Meanwhile, 'Stranger Things' Season 5 itself is already out in the wild. All eight episodes are streaming on Netflix, with the finale dropping on December 31. The season rode that New Year’s push to the top of Netflix’s Top 10 and is already sitting at No. 9 on the streamer’s all-time most popular list.
