At the end of the 19th century in France, the great gourmet Dodin shares a house with his excellent cook, Eugénie. Dodin had long been in love with Eugénie and dreamed of marrying her, but she chose to express her feelings through exquisite dishes.

Set in rural France, the movie was shot under the watchful eye of Pierre Gagnaire, a chef who has been awarded 14 Michelin stars.

In the early '60s, Su and Chow, two neighbors, met in a Hong Kong apartment building. Their spouses were often absent, so they became closer by having dinner together.

They soon began to notice their partners' strange behavior and decided they were cheating on them with each other.
