Bella and Edward will come back and start their romance all over again.

Although The Twilight Saga ended more than a decade ago, the film series starring Robert Pattinson as century-old vampire Edward and Kristen Stewart as his human girlfriend Bella is still very popular, and its already huge fandom keeps growing thanks to TikTok and other social media.

Earlier this year, Lionsgate announced that a TV reboot of the vampire story was already in the works, and since then, fans have been dying to know who will portray Edward and Bella in the upcoming show.

Of course, if the series' producers want their project to be a hit, they must look out for actors who can build true chemistry between their characters, as this is what made Pattinson and Stewart so believable in their roles. Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the original Twilight movies, had spent countless hours working with her leads even before the first film began shooting, so she is the one person who has the most expertise in this matter.

Recently, the director shared her experience prepping the actors for the original Twilight films, and the reboot producers should really heed her words and take them as advice.

'The chemistry between Edward and Bella is so important. We did the chemistry reads, like, right here at my house,' Catherine Hardwicke said. 'And you know, Rob and Kristen met each other for the first time here. We really kind of played around with that, to be sure that those kinds of sparks would be there.'

Conducting chemistry readings in preparation for the Twilight reboot sounds like a great idea, and that's something the series' executive producers Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig should be doing right after they cast their leads. Since Twilight is a romance story first and foremost, its success largely depends on the dynamics between Edward and Bella, and if the actors fail to click with each other, the whole show might fall apart in the process.

Now that the Lionsgate producers have the first rule from Catherine Hardwicke's playbook, we're hoping to soon hear from them and discover who will play the main characters in their upcoming show.
