The One Thing Sam Heughan's Keeping from the Outlander Season 8 Set

Starz's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's iconic time-traveling book series became a huge hit in 2014, enthralling viewers with the misty Scottish landscapes and the endearing love story between Claire Randall and Jamie Fraser. Even though the show's popularity began to falter a bit after the story moved to colonial America, fans eagerly await each new season, hoping that the creative team will fix the mistakes and give the beloved show a compelling ending.

With only two seasons left until the series' grand finale, Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan are already preparing to say goodbye to the show they have been working on for a decade, rounding up new projects while promoting the upcoming Season 7 as the best in The Outlander's history.

Of course, the actors are sad to see this exciting chapter of their lives come to an end, and they have both shared some great memories from the Outlander set with fans. Recently, Sam Heughan revealed that, although his character had a lot of fascinating memorabilia to take with him, he decided to keep just one, rather mundane, piece of wardrobe as a souvenir — a pair of boots.

'I am definitely going to keep, I mean I love all of Jamie's weapons, but I love his boots. His boots are the thing that I feel like I'm Jamie when I put them on,' the actor said.

The fandom was surprised that Heughan decided to keep the boots and not some of the swords Jamie used during the course of the show. However, it looks like the actor spent so many hours wearing those boots that they remind him of his character much more than even the finest swords or other weapons.

And with this, only one question remains. If the rumors that Sam Hughan is being scouted to play the next iteration of James Bond are true, will he be smuggling in those old leather boots and pairing them with Agent 007's impeccable costumes? Fans certainly hope so!

Outlander Season 7 will arrive on Starz on June 16, 2023.
