The Office fans got a prime-time payoff as Oscar Nuñez and Kate Flannery crushed the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire finale, snagged the $1 million grand prize, and donated every dollar to charity.

File this under: extremely on-brand crossovers I will always watch. Two cast members from The Office just took a victory lap on the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire season finale, nailed the $1 million question, and sent the whole prize to charity.

Who won and where it went

Oscar Nunez and Kate Flannery — Oscar and Meredith to most of us — teamed up for the finale and played for causes they actually care about. Nunez chose Planned Parenthood. Flannery picked Philabundance, the food bank that serves the Philadelphia area. It is a nice Pennsylvania nod, even if Dunder Mifflin’s famous branch was in Scranton.

The $1 million moment

The drama was very real. When the million-dollar prompt popped up, Nunez was so overwhelmed he literally laid down on the studio floor. Flannery, meanwhile, went full honesty hour.

"I hate this game!"

The final question: what does the ancient Greek word for 'planet' literally mean? The choices were 'powerful,' 'immortal,' 'stranger,' and 'wanderer.' Flannery leaned toward 'wanderer' — which, if you’ve stared at a night sky, makes sense — and Nunez, not exactly thrilled, went along. They locked it in.

Host Jimmy Kimmel did the classic long pause, then finally confirmed they were right. Confetti everywhere. They both looked stunned. Flannery paced the stage in full disbelief mode. Moments later, oversized check in hand, they were clearly emotional about winning big for two good causes.

Scranton reunion energy

Because this needed one more layer of fan service, Brian Baumgartner (Kevin Malone himself) showed up as their Phone-a-Friend lifeline. Yes, that means Kevin was literally on call during a million-dollar Office reunion moment — not the cameo I expected, but I’m not mad at it.
