The Office Cast Celebrated Steve Carell Exit for This Bizarre Reason
The Office holds a special place in the hearts of millions of fans.
Ask any viewer, and they will tell you an incredible story about how The Office helped them through their darkest times and was the best friend they needed. The Office is one of the funniest and most rewatchable shows of all time.
It is the perfect go-to sitcom for every life situation, and it is no surprise that it is one of the most watched shows on Netflix.
Of course, a large part of the show's appeal is due to its relatable, if often weird, characters. The face of the show is definitely Steve Carell as Michael Scott. Although it is hard to relate to Michael, who is often caricaturishly dumb and dysfunctional, we all see someone we know in him, and his presence gives the show its endearing, slightly crazy vibe.

That's why when Carell left the show after Season 7, many viewers were saddened and felt that the whole vibe of the sitcom had changed. The Office cast and crew were also very emotional about the exit of the beloved actor.
However, there was one factor that sugarcoated Carell's departure for his colleagues.
Rainn Wilson, who portrayed Dwight Schrute on the sitcom, revealed in his memoir that the set of The Office was not a comfortable place to work because of a peculiarity of Carell's. It turned out that the star had a tendency to sweat excessively, more than any other actor on the show.
"When the temperature would get hot or he would get nervous, he would erupt like Vesuvius and there would be a flash flood of sweat down his face," Wilson wrote (via CheatSheet).
This unfortunate trait might show up on camera, so the crew decided to keep the set at 64 degrees Fahrenheit when Carell was there. And since he played the lead character, who appeared in almost every scene, the set was always cold and uncomfortable for the rest of the cast.

Wilson wrote that it was especially hard on the female part of the cast, who had to wear thin office clothes. So the temperature of the workplace was an extremely pressing issue during the early seasons. Fortunately, the problem was eventually solved by purchasing individual space heaters for the ladies.
