The Office: 6 Unforgettable Guest Stars Who Stole the Show
The iconic sitcom featured many outstanding cameos, but some of them shone much brighter than others at Dunder Mifflin.
If you don't like The Office, you probably haven't seen it. The American version of the sitcom, centred around the employees of Dunder Mifflin, gave us a wealth of fantastic characters, hilarious situations, memorable catchphrases, and heartwarming moments (who didn't shed a tear during the finale?).
Over its nine seasons, the show was not only memorable for its ensemble cast but also for its numerous guest stars. Here's our list of the most unforgettable cameos we still remember fondly:
6. Jack Black, Jessica Alba, Cloris Leachman
All three starred in Mrs. Albert Hannaday, the in-universe movie that Andy pirated in season 5. In the film, Alba's character introduces her partner (Black) to her grandmother (Leachman). Unexpectedly, a love triangle ensues! However, Leachman's character eventually dumps the philandering Jack Black.
5. Amy Adams
The stunning Amy Adams appeared on the show as Katy Moore, a purse saleswoman who became a recurring character in the first two seasons. She captivated both Michael and Dwight with her charm but ultimately favoured Jim, whom she dated until he broke up with her upon realising he had feelings for Pam.
4. Tim Meadows
I want my baby back, baby back, baby back. If anyone could endure the endless stories of the World's Best Boss, Michael Scott, and even keep the conversation going, it was Lackawanna County Representative Christian. The hilarious Tim Meadows, known for his work on SNL and numerous cameos, appeared in just one episode of The Office but immediately won the hearts of fans for years to come.
3. Jim Carrey
When Michael resigned, the office staff desperately sought a new regional manager. Little did they know that one of the applicants would be Jim Carrey... or rather, Finger Lakes Guy, who, as his nickname suggests, couldn't stop talking about the Finger Lakes. It was time for him to return to his family in the Finger Lakes because, after all, people were disappearing in the Finger Lakes.
2. Randall Park
One of the most memorable moments for fans was the 'Asian Jim' scene, where Jim decided to prank Dwight by having his and Pam's friend Steve impersonate him for a day. Randall Park portrayed Jim so perfectly that not only did Dwight question his sanity, but so did the audience!
1. Ricky Gervais
The iconic appearance of the co-creator and star of the British version of The Office confirmed that both stories exist in the same universe! The ever-obnoxious David Brent, played by Gervais, accidentally bumped into Michael Scott in an elevator, demonstrating that all office bosses share the same sense of humour—and genius.
