Elliot Page is back in Christopher Nolan’s orbit, reuniting for the director’s upcoming epic The Odyssey and reflecting on his first time on a Nolan set since Inception — and since his transition.

Elliot Page just dropped a little update on Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, and it doubles as a mini Inception reunion story. He talked about it at the X-Men: Days of Future Past panel at the 2025 New York Comic Con, which is a fun bit of crossover chaos: discussing Homer and Nolan at an X-Men panel. Sure, why not.

Back with Nolan, 15 years after Inception

Page worked with Nolan back in 2010 on Inception, where he was one of the movie's key players. Now, nearly a decade and a half later, they found their way back to each other for The Odyssey. Page said he was thrilled to return, and he even described the very Nolan-esque process of going in, talking through the role, and reading the script in a room on-site — which, if you know Nolan, tracks with his whole keep-it-in-the-vault workflow.

"To come back now, as you can imagine, being more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable."

Page transitioned in 2020, and he was clear that being in a better place personally made this experience hit harder. He also said getting a 'Chris Nolan experience' again meant a lot to him, and yes, the word he used was 'selfishly' — which is both honest and relatable.

So what exactly is The Odyssey?

Nolan is directing and also developed the screenplay, adapting Homer’s ancient epic into a big-screen, big-format thing. Plot-wise, expect the classic: Odysseus battling his way home after the Trojan War, running into famous mythic hazards — think a one-eyed giant named Polyphemus, the Sirens and their deadly soundtrack, and the sorceress Circe — all while trying to make it back to his family.

Page’s role is still being kept quiet. The rest of the cast is, frankly, stacked:

The Nolan of it all

The 'read it in a room' detail is pure Nolan secrecy — no PDFs floating around, no take-home drafts. If you’re wondering why these projects rarely leak, that’s a big part of it.

Timeline and release

Production ran across multiple continents from early to mid-2025. The Odyssey hits theaters — IMAX included, obviously — on July 17, 2026.
