The Kanye VMAs Diss: Is the Swift-Kardashian Feud Still On After 14 Years?

The 2009 MTV VMAs was one of the most controversial awards shows ever. Kanye West interrupted the presentation of the Best Female Video award to Taylor Swift to proclaim that Beyonce's video was far superior, which caused outrage from fans worldwide. Later on, Kanye continued the beef by name-dropping Swift in one of his songs, claiming that the only reason she was famous was because of his outrageous antics.

Of course, Kim Kardashian supported Kanye at the time and also feuded with Swift, but with her ex-husband out of the picture, is Kim still feuding with Swift?

Although Taylor and Kim have never publicly apologised to each other, it appears that the two stars have both moved on from their drama-filled phase and prefer not to engage in any more disputes. Back in 2021, when asked to name her favourite Swift album, Kim refrained from slamming Taylor as she had done previously and instead stated that she loved many of her songs, seemingly indicating that the beef was over.

However, Swift still seems to jump at every opportunity to subtly tease Kim, seeing how she timed the release of her 2022 album, Midnight, to coincide with Kim's birthday on 21 October. Fans immediately speculated that Swift was attempting to eclipse the reality star's birthday by releasing her highly anticipated album, but it appears that this did not faze Kim, as sources close to her revealed that she did not view Swift's decision negatively.

But what about Taylor's beef with Kanye? It seems that the two have not been paying attention to each other of late: Taylor has been concentrating on releasing and performing music, while Kanye, who's now rebranded himself as Ye, has been descending ever deeper into ever more bizarre conspiracy theories that are too grandiose to feature ordinary pop stars like Taylor Swift.

In any case, it appears that the Kardashian-Swift feud is officially over, with both parties refusing to reignite it. And that's a good thing, as fans and other celebrities alike have grown weary of hearing about it for the past decade.
