What's his name again? Tedious? Texas?

The marketing for HBO's The Idol was insane, and so were our expectations. The show was predicted to become the new Euphoria (indeed, they're similar in the amount of controversy), and everyone was excited to see its star-studded cast, led by Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd.

But despite all the hype, the only thing Sam Levinson's show managed to accomplish was to appall viewers, receiving incredibly low ratings and harsh criticism for excessive amounts of violence and nudity, as well as subpar writing. However, one of the few positive things about The Idol was, of course, the memes — and in that respect, the new show's popularity on the Internet can only be matched by The Twilight Saga.

Apparently, Abel 'The Weeknd' Tesfaye was so bad in his role as cult leader Tedros that even the character's name didn't stick with the audience. At the end of the show, Tedros turned out to be a puppet in the hands of Lily-Rose Depp's Jocelyn, and it looks like his name is just as forgettable as the villain himself.

Tedros' real name is actually Mauricio Costello Jackson, which is even harder to remember and certainly not befitting an enigmatic cult leader that Mauricio/Tedros tried to be.

'I'm gonna call him Tetris from now on lol,' a Reddit user joked.

The fact that viewers are already forgetting his name seems appropriate in terms of where the character found himself at the end of the series — with his reputation effectively ruined and his cult followers siding with Jocelyn, Tedros' power has already vanished, and people's memory of his name will too.

Interestingly, one of the characters of The Twilight Saga, Bella and Edward's daughter Renesmee, has become the subject of similar name mangling jokes.

'I'll start: resumé (my personal favorite), renaissance, chuckesme, ratatouille,' one fan shared their versions of Renesmee's name. However, no other renaming sounds as appropriate and hilarious as the most obvious one — 'ReNameMe.'

Looks like The Idol's Tedros hasn't made a lasting impression on the series' viewers. Was he Tetris, or just plain Tedious? Well, if the show still gets renewed for a second season despite poor ratings, the name may finally stick.
