8. The Mosquito Coast

Cancellation date: January 20

Paul Theroux, on whose novel the series is based on, praised both seasons and hoped for a renewal for the third one. Unfortunately, this did not happen. The series followed a brilliant inventor who decided to hide with his family in Latin America while being pursued by the US government.

7. Dear Edward

Cancellation date: April 19

Another cancellation was Dear Edward, about a boy who lost his family in a plane crash and was the sole survivor. He, his aunt, and all those affected by the tragedy are now navigating life, dealing with grief and trauma.

6. Truth Be Told

Cancellation date: April 24

Starring Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul, the show followed an investigative reporter who started a true-crime podcast in which she revisited her old case where a murder convict may have been falsely accused. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after three seasons due to mixed reviews.

5. Metropolis

One of Apple's most ambitious projects was a TV adaptation of Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou's classic 1927 German sci-fi film Metropolis. Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail was working on the show, but the project was so monumental that the cost was too irrational for Apple.

The comedy series High Desert followed an addict who decided to change her life by becoming a private investigator. Despite generally positive reviews, the show was canceled after one season.
