If you thought The Boys had already pushed the line, Season 5 is apparently about to find new lines just to cross them.

The upcoming final season of Prime Video's no-holds-barred superhero satire is promising an "amazing conclusion" — and according to Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir), it's going to get "very gross" in ways fans aren't ready for.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Mitchell teased some truly unhinged twists:

"Ah, man. I am excited for the audience to see more new Noir in Season 5. I think we learn more about him, and I think it's a fun ride. There are character arcs, journeys, and very gross moments in Season 5 that you are not expecting."

Mitchell also promised big payoffs:

"Where we go with certain characters, you're going to be like, ‘Oh, I knew we were going somewhere, but I didn't know we were going there!' I think it is going to be an amazing conclusion, and I can't wait to share this journey with the fans."

This lines up with what showrunner Eric Kripke and the rest of the cast have been teasing for months — that Season 5 will be the darkest yet, with blood, death, and full-on chaos. Kripke already warned fans to expect "lots of deaths," and Antony Starr (Homelander) called the ending "jaw-dropping."

Production started last November, and yes, pretty much everyone is back —

  • Karl Urban (Butcher)
  • Jack Quaid (Hughie)
  • Erin Moriarty (Starlight)
  • Laz Alonso (Mother's Milk)
  • Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy)
  • Aya Cash (Stormfront)
  • Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler)

Plus: Nathan Mitchell returns as Black Noir II — a rebooted version of the original, who met a messy end at Homelander's hands in Season 3.

And in a fun bonus for Supernatural fans, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are joining the cast, reuniting with Ackles and Morgan for what's basically a CW fever dream soaked in gore.

The Boys originally premiered in 2019, quickly becoming one of Prime Video's most beloved shows — not to mention one of its bloodiest. While Season 5 is the official end of the main series, the franchise will live on through multiple spinoffs, including one set in Mexico and another focused on Vought International.

In the meantime, if you're wondering what's left for this show to pull off after four seasons of exploding heads and superhero sex cults… well, Mitchell's "very gross moments" probably answer that.

All four seasons of The Boys are now streaming on Prime Video. Season 5 is on the way — and no, you're not ready.
