The first two episodes will be available in the theatrical release.

The original The Boys graphic novels were never mainstream. Dark and violent, they reflect Garth Ennis' disdain for the genre's most popular tropes, and are pretty tough reads even for those who don't mind more gore in their comics. What made them popular is Amazon's, led by Eric Kripke (of Supernatural fame) as showrunner.

The Boys was an instant hit with those who either love or loathe the superhero genre. After all, the show skillfully deconstructs the myths and delusions about people with superpowers, presenting a clever satire about corrupt superheroes controlled by a cynical corporation.

Sadly, we are currently waiting impatiently for any news on Season 4, as despite the completion of filming, the release has been halted due to the ongoing writers and actors strike. However, fans of the franchise can rejoice for a moment – the spin-off, Gen V, is coming out in just one week, with the action unfolding parallel to the upcoming events. But did you know that you can watch the first episodes for free ahead of the premiere on Prime Video?

New Spin-Off

Gen V follows students as they navigate life at Godolkin University. Sounds like your typical teen drama, right? Except it's not so simple – the college is owned by Vaught, the same sinister corporation responsible for the near assembly-line production of superheroes (as well as numerous war crimes).

Godolkin is an elite educational facility that trains only future superheroes. Some of the students will embrace their natures and become as dark as Homelander, and some will go against their 'natures' and try to uncover the dark secrets of Vaught. Expect cameos from familiar supes, including Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), and The Deep (Chace Crawford).

Early Premiere

Amazon Prime Video will release the series on September 29, exactly one week from now. However, you can still catch an early theatrical premiere, which will be released two days earlier as part of the Prime Premiere program!

Technically, it's not exactly free, as you still need to be a Prime member, but fans of The Boys have probably been subscribed for a while now. The theatrical premiere will take place on September 27th and will include the first two episodes. Of course, this kind of exclusivity is only available to residents of the US, UK and Ireland.

If you live in the U.S. and are a Prime member, all you have to do is follow this link, find a theater near you, and reserve a seat. For the UK and Ireland, it's the same, except you'll need to follow this link.

Alas, many theaters are already sold out, so we suggest getting skills like A-Train or teleporting like Hughie... well, just don't forget to bring spare clothes.

How are you going to see the series premiere?
