As parts of Texas continue to battle devastating floods, a set of viral images has been making the rounds online — showing what appear to be country stars Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Luke Bryan lending a hand on the ground.

But despite what social media wants you to believe, none of them were actually there.

According to a source close to Blake Shelton, the singer "had not been on site in Texas," despite AI-generated photos claiming otherwise.

The images, widely circulated on platforms like Facebook and X, showed Shelton in rescue gear, reportedly assisting flood victims. Some versions even paired him with Gwen Stefani and Luke Bryan, suggesting they were helping with the relief effort as well.

None of it checks out.

The fabricated photos appear to be completely AI-generated — a growing trend during high-profile disasters, where emotional content spreads faster than facts.

Meanwhile, the real situation in Texas is still unfolding:

  • 120 people have died as a result of the flooding, according to NBC News.
  • 173 individuals are still missing.

In the wake of the tragedy, plenty of genuine efforts are underway across Texas, with first responders and local volunteers working nonstop to aid those displaced and in danger. The damage includes homes, infrastructure, and widespread power outages across multiple counties.

Blake Shelton, of course, has a long history of flood relief involvement — including benefit concerts and donations in the past — and his 2011 hit "God Gave Me You" became something of an unofficial anthem for communities affected by similar disasters. But this time, he's not on the ground, and neither are Stefani or Bryan.

In an age where AI-generated images can be churned out and believed within minutes, the Texas flood rumors are just the latest reminder: always check the source.
