Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Go Pre-K With Animated Preschool Series in the Works
Paramount Skydance is going all-in on TMNT, investing in a YouTube animated series, new comics and books — and even restaurants.
Paramount Skydance just put a big green flag on the Ninja Turtles brand. New shows, new books, new toys, and yes, actual pizza joints. If you thought the Turtles were everywhere already, consider this the booster pack.
The preschool pivot: 'Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles'
A new animated short series called 'Teeny Mutant Ninja Turtles' is on the way for YouTube later in 2026. It runs 30 episodes, each four minutes long, and zeroes in on the Turtles as kids — Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo — built specifically for a preschool audience. The title is a cheeky swing, and the format screams bite-size, repeatable viewing.
Pizza you can actually eat
TMNT-themed pizzerias are set to open in 2026 in three cities: Santa Monica, Monterrey in Mexico, and Sao Paulo in Brazil. It is a very on-brand move, and you can picture the photo ops already.
Toys change hands after nearly four decades
Starting in 2027, Mattel takes over as the toy partner for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, ending Playmates Toys' run with the brand that dates back to 1988. Mattel will produce toys tied to 2027's 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem' and the 2028 live-action film. That is a major baton pass for a franchise that has lived in the toy aisle as long as it has on screens.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is full of action, humor and heart... Our new offerings continue the growth of this incredible property and demonstrate new ways for global audiences of all ages to relate to these stories and characters."
— Josh Silverman, president of global products and experiences at Paramount
Books are also in the pipeline as part of this expansion, rounding out the watch-play-read-eat approach.
