It looks like Nate may finally find happiness by the end of this season.

While Ted Lasso is still the ultimate feel-good show, the third season of the hit Apple TV comedy series feels a lot darker than the previous two.

Several of its characters, including Ted Lasso himself, are struggling with mental health issues, and none is currently as miserable as Nate Shelley, an assistant coach who left AFC Richmond in last season's finale to work for their biggest rivals, West Ham.

While Nate has managed to find a girlfriend, score some big wins for West Ham, and earn a lot of money in Season 3, he is currently an empty shell of his former self, as his new position has not brought him the happiness he expected. Nate is struggling with his sense of identity, and fans expect him to do something about it by the end of the season.

Nick Mohammed, the actor who portrays Nate, has just spilled the beans about his character's future.

'Without giving away whether there's a full redemption or not, and it's not as black-and-white anyway, but there's an element of catharsis. We do reach an endpoint. That story feels complete by the time we get to the end. I'm excited and mildly apprehensive about how the fans will react to where that storyline is headed,' Mohammed said.

Yes, it looks like the long-awaited redemption arc for Nate will finally become a reality in the Season 3 finale, and we can expect him to leave his position at West Ham and return to Richmond to lead his team to victory over their rivals. Fans have been speculating about this development for quite some time, even suggesting that Nate could replace Ted as head coach, with the two ex-friends finally settling their differences.

In any case, Nate's mental health will certainly be taken care of this season, and even the fans who began to hate him for his betrayal agree that Nate totally deserves happiness after all the troubles he has been through this season.

Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 10 will arrive on Apple TV + on May 17, 2023.
