It looks like the fans didn't believe in the finale.

Apple TV's biggest comedy show Ted Lasso is officially over, as both Jason Sudeikis, who plays the titular coach, and representatives for the streaming service have confirmed following the Season 3 finale.

However, fans are still expecting spin-offs focusing on other characters in the future, and only one thing about the finale spoils their anticipation.

For many viewers, it was hard to stomach how every single character on the show got exactly the happy ending they were dreaming of. While Ted Lasso has always been known as a feel-good comedy-drama that spends much of its time exploring the characters' psychological problems and then showing how they overcome them, fans still felt that Season 3 was ultimately too sweet and happy, even by Ted Lasso's standards.

It was great to see Coach Beard finally get married, Rebecca meet her man from Amsterdam at the airport, Jamie repair his relationship with his father, and Ted himself return to the US to spend more time with his son. However, seeing all these rewarding conclusions, fans felt a kind of sensory overload and argued that at least one bad thing should have happened in the finale.

On the contrary, some people don't agree with the criticism, arguing that this kind of positive vibes are quite common in all comedy series' final episodes, and Ted Lasso is no exception to this rule.

'That's kind of what series finales do. People would have complained if they'd left a bunch of loose ends. It felt like they had to cram an awful lot into the last few episodes, after some slow-moving episodes early in Season 3,' one fan said.

But even with that in mind, other viewers are sure that the final episode of Ted Lasso isn't actually so feel-good, as the show once again proved to be much more complex than seen from afar.

'Series finale of a feel-good show, are they all supposed to die in a team bus wreck? I disagree it's all happy. As the show illustrates time and again, life is a struggle for everyone and there are no happy endings, just new beginnings,' another fan noted.

Well, we certainly wish all the best to Ted Lasso's characters but still hope to see some of them overcoming their new problems in upcoming spin-offs.
