The actress is reveling in her well-deserved success.

Initially, the concept of a show about an American football coach traveling to England to train a soccer team seemed slightly perplexing. However, the moment Ted Lasso debuted on Apple TV in 2020, the world was smitten with this unconventional feel-good story. While Jason Sudeikis was already a well-known name before the show's premiere, the same cannot be said for his co-stars, whose popularity soared following the monumental success of Ted Lasso.

It would appear that Hannah Waddingham, who portrayed the AFC Richmond owner, Rebecca, has managed to get more mileage out of Ted Lasso than any of the other cast members, emerging as a leading face on Apple TV+.

A Special For The Star

Earlier this week, the streaming giant unexpectedly announced that Hannah Waddingham would be hosting her own Christmas special, filmed in front of a live audience at London's Colosseum. The special, titled Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas, already has fans feeling the Christmas spirit on account of its basic premise.

Hannah will be performing some of her favorite holiday tunes, accompanied by special guest stars, and the entire event promises to be the perfect opportunity to appreciate the actress' remarkable singing voice.

While the identities of the guest stars to share the stage with Hannah have not yet been disclosed, fans are confident that singer Michael Bublé will be among them, given their previous performance together in 2021.

Familiar Faces

It is also assumed that Apple TV+ will invite some of her former Ted Lasso co-stars to the special, as a crew reunion is likely to attract more viewers to the project.

However, one aspect is still irking fans - despite the special's focus on Christmas, it is scheduled for release on November 22, a full month before the holiday! Wouldn't it be more appropriate for the streaming service to release it on Christmas Eve?
