Everything is good in moderation, they say.

In its four years' run, Ted Lasso has gone through a number of transformations, and many of the series' characters have changed too, for better or worse.

And while fans enjoyed Roy Kent and Jamie Tartt growing closer to each other as mates, it looks like the third season had enough of their bromance already.

In Season 1 of Ted Lasso, Roy and Jamie couldn't bear the sight of each other. The two AFC Richmond players were the biggest rivals, and things got even worse when Jamie's ex-girlfriend Keeley started dating Roy. However, as the show progressed, the two came to terms with each other and even became friends by Season 3.

Having changed quite a bit since the beginning of the show, both characters have learned to enjoy each other's company, and fans have come to like their friendship too. By the way, that special bromance chemistry between Jamie and Roy is all the more powerful since the actors portraying them, Phil Dunster and Brett Goldstein, are also friends in real life.

The scenes with the two footballers fooling around are generally great and fun to watch, and most viewers agree that the show has just enough of Jamie and Roy's bromance at the moment.

'Maybe a little bit more [of the bromance] would be cool, but I think it's currently about the right balance,' one fan pointed out on Reddit, and many supported the opinion, 'I prefer to see more scenes with Ted, more scenes with Rebecca, and fewer scenes with Keely's PR company.'

The third season of Ted Lasso has been criticized for veering off course and focusing on too many unnecessary storylines that seem to fill in the running time without adding much to the overall story. In the case of Roy and Jamie, fans seem to appreciate them enough to tolerate the characters' stealing attention away from the show's important plot developments — but it would be wrong to give them even more spotlight in the future episodes at the expense of all the other characters.

As much as the show's fans and actors (and writers, apparently) enjoy Kent and Tartt's arc, Ted Lasso should strive for balance and moderation in the remaining episodes of Season 3. There are many more storylines to complete, and fans are dying to know what's going to happen to the other beloved characters in the finale.

Episode 10 of Ted Lasso Season 3 will air on May 17, 2023.
